HivemindOS manual
Connected Intelligence, Private Work, And Workflows
This page covers three related controls: following changes in your connected sources, keeping sensitive work on your own devices, and building multi-step workflows you review before they run.
Follow changes from connected sources
Open Brain > Hive Vault and find Connected sources in Brain Services. The card shows how many sources you have, what’s new or updated, when each last changed, whether it’s active or paused, and anything that needs attention.
Documents added through Feed the brain appear here automatically, and supported connections can send updates. Unchanged copies are ignored, and changed content is saved as a new version.
Connected material is always marked as untrusted source material. Check a claim before turning it into a decision or instruction.
- Mark read clears the current changes after you’ve reviewed them.
- Pausing a source stops new updates but keeps what’s already in your brain.
Keep work on your devices
Open an agent’s settings and turn on Keep all work on my devices. This Private Work setting applies across HivemindOS until you turn it off.
While it’s on:
- agents must use on-device models, on this device or another connected one;
- connected actions and other outside calls are blocked;
- commands can’t reach the network; and
- scheduled and background work follows the same rule.
Local files, local tools, and your connected devices still work. If HivemindOS can’t guarantee a command will stay offline, it blocks it and explains why. Your accounts and saved connections stay in place; they just can’t be used until you turn Private Work off.
Build a workflow from a goal
- Open Work > Automations and choose Build a multi-step workflow.
- Describe the result you want in one sentence.
- Choose Preview workflow and review the steps, handoffs, and approval points.
- Choose Check preview to validate it without running anything.
- Choose Save draft to keep editing, or Save and enable when it’s ready.
- Add the result you want for this run, then start it.
A draft can’t run. Goals that send, publish, pay, delete, book, or act outside HivemindOS get an approval step, and your existing permissions still apply.
Review and resume a run
The Runs tab shows each run’s state and finished steps. Progress is saved before each step, so if HivemindOS or your device stops, open the run and choose Resume. It continues from the last safe point.
Recover a full tool result
Long tool output is shortened before it reaches an agent. HivemindOS keeps the full original on your device for a limited time, so the agent can fetch all of it, or just the part it needs, when the detail matters. This works even with Private Work on.
