Adding knowledge to Brain

Brain turns what you capture into organized notes. It always saves the original first, then adds a title, summary, topics, and a project when the source names one.

Capture something

Use New in Brain, or share text into Brain from another app.
In the phone chat composer, type /note or /ingest followed by text or a link.
Choose Save original to keep a capture to organize later, or Write a note yourself to open the note editor.

Supported phone inputs are pasted text, supported public web pages, dictation, and text files. For other documents, paste the passage you want to keep. On the desktop, see Documents and Brain Drop.

Where things show up

Section	What it holds
Notes	Useful knowledge you wrote or Brain organized.
Memories	Kept facts, decisions, and preferences.
Captures	The originals.
Review	Uncertain notes and suggested memories waiting for you.
Everything	All of the above plus reports, conversation transcripts, source files, and history.

Project, topic, and type collections use Obsidian properties, so importing an existing vault doesn’t require renaming folders.

Research sources feed your compiled-knowledge library, with each source kept beside its summary. Topic lists you provide win over guesses. Notes with similar titles are never merged or deleted automatically.

Learn from conversations

Learn from new conversations is optional and starts with new messages after you turn it on. The phone and a connected computer each have their own switch.

Useful findings appear in Review with their evidence. Keep memory makes a finding durable; Dismiss keeps it out of your library.
A finding that conflicts with an existing memory may need review on the computer first.
Conversations are checked only when they change, and repeated findings share one review item.
The daily inbox audit is still there for broader review. It never applies findings on its own.

Open the phone app to send new conversations and get suggestions. A running computer keeps organizing its own conversations.

Background organization

Background organization is being prepared for release. It will let captures finish organizing after you close the app, and a daily review will suggest links between related sources in Review. Conversations are included only when conversation learning is on.

You see the price before turning it on and can set a daily spending limit.
Only material already sent can be processed while the phone is closed.
Everyday intake does not need a connected computer or a separate assistant app.
If organizing fails, your original is still there.
