HivemindOS manual
Stock Trading
Buy and sell stocks in Trade → Stocks, or ask an agent (“buy $25 of AAPL”, “sell my AAPL”). You can practice for free before using real money.
Choose a venue
- Alpaca: a regulated US brokerage for market orders on normal stocks. Starts in paper (practice) mode; you opt in to live trading.
- Robinhood Agentic Trading: long-equity market orders in a dedicated Robinhood Agentic brokerage account. Robinhood reviews each order first, and you confirm separately before it is placed.
- xStocks: tokenized stocks on Solana. Buying uses USDC and selling returns USDC. Needs a Solana wallet with a little SOL for fees.
- Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens: eligible tokenized stock and ETF tokens on Robinhood Chain. Buying uses USDG and selling returns USDG. Needs a Robinhood Chain wallet with USDG plus ETH for gas.
Set each agent’s venue, Alpaca paper or live, and maximum per trade in Wallets.
Practice with paper trading
The Paper trading toggle on the Stocks screen is on by default:
- On: orders run against a free, simulated Alpaca account. No real money moves and no real stock is bought.
- Off (live): real orders with real money. This only works if live trading is turned on for that wallet, so you can’t switch to live by accident.
The portfolio panel shows the account’s value, cash, buying power, and open positions with profit and loss for the mode you’re viewing.
Set up Alpaca
Alpaca uses separate keys for practice and live. Add them to your shared env:
- Paper:
ALPACA_PAPER_API_KEY_IDandALPACA_PAPER_API_SECRET_KEY, generated in Alpaca’s dashboard with the account set to “Paper”. - Live:
ALPACA_API_KEY_IDandALPACA_API_SECRET_KEY, generated with the account set to “Live”.
xStocks and Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens need no brokerage keys; they sign from your own wallet.
Connect Robinhood Agentic Trading
- Open Integrations → MCP Servers.
- Select Connect Robinhood and finish Robinhood’s browser sign-in.
- If Robinhood returns more than one account, choose the dedicated Agentic account.
- In Wallet settings or the Trade tab, choose Robinhood Agentic as the wallet’s stock venue.
There is no Robinhood password or API key to paste. The sign-in is stored encrypted on your computer. Disconnect removes it, and you can also revoke access in your Robinhood account settings.
Agents can read the authorized account’s positions, balances, orders, and watchlists through a fixed list of read tools. They never get Robinhood’s raw order tools; placing and canceling orders goes through HivemindOS’s confirmed trade flow.
Confirmations, limits, and fees
- Every buy and sell asks you to confirm.
- Each agent has a maximum per trade.
- A buy counts toward your spending limits. A sell brings money in and a paper trade isn’t real money, so neither counts. If you’ve frozen a company, even its practice trades are blocked.
- Official builds charge a HivemindOS execution fee on xStocks, Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens, Robinhood Agentic orders, and live Alpaca orders: 0.10% with a $0.01 minimum and $10 maximum. A
$100live brokerage or tokenized-stock order produces a$0.10fee. The preview shows it before you confirm. - For live brokerage orders, the separate USDC or USDG fee is pre-authorized before the order and collected only after the broker accepts it. Tokenized-stock fees settle after the swap completes. Paper trades are not charged.
- Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens can be blocked by liquidity, legal, or eligibility rules. HivemindOS shows the block instead of routing around it.
Market hours
Alpaca and Robinhood Agentic orders follow those brokers’ market sessions; an order placed while the market is closed may wait for the next session. xStocks and Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens trade on-chain, so availability depends on live liquidity and your jurisdiction.
Trades appear in Wallets · Activity. See Safety & Limits for caps and confirmations.
