HivemindOS manual
Skills
A skill teaches an agent a repeatable way to do something, such as reviewing code, researching a topic, or producing a video. Use skills so you don’t have to rewrite the same long prompt every time.
Agents find skills on the shared shelf in Hive Superbrain and load the full instructions only when a task needs them.
Use a skill
Ask normally, for example “Use our code-review process on this pull request.” If more than one skill fits, the agent searches the shelf and tells you which one it picked.
Open the skill browser from Chat or Brain to:
- see what is available;
- read a skill before you trust it;
- install an optional skill or pack;
- update or remove a skill.
On mobile, starter skills and their guides are ready automatically. Skills that need desktop software are left out, and some still need a connected computer. Your own skills and edits are kept when you reopen the app.
Kinds of skills
- Hive skills are HivemindOS workflows that setup installs for you.
- Optional skills stay in the catalog until you install them.
- Connected skills come from an app, provider, or plugin and may need that service connected first.
Installing a skill only makes its instructions available. It does not run a workflow, connect an account, spend money, publish anything, or approve actions for you.
Create your own
Use Hive Fusion to turn a process that worked into a shared skill. Review the instructions it writes and test the skill on a small task first.
Skills are normal files in your Obsidian vault, so you can read, edit, back up, or delete them.
Hive skills
Workflows HivemindOS installs for you: company creation, capability search, reuse-before-build checks, memory, and fusion.
